Peeber is a natural at the guitar. Marshall, you would appreciate his serious love for the broken guitar in my room. He’s been playing it for two days straight now…ai yai yaiiiii. Even if he wakes me up at god awful hours in the morning, he’s still my one and only baby boy/true love.
So, i arrive at the country club yesterday morning and this guy is standing at his car next to where i parked. I got out and all he said was “listen”. I stopped rummaging through my bag and listened to what sounded like a serious fire or car alarm coming from the trees down the hill. “The cicadas are here…only every seventeen years” he said. That’s when i texted my dear marshall to inform her that they are certainly making their arrival. The perimeter of our house is lined with little holes in the dirt, definitely the work of the almighty bugs. Point being….come back to asheville immediately, my little neighbors!!!!
The country club is super easy and i’m starting to get to know the people i work with. Zack’s 20th birthday party was two nights ago and it was rather insane. People on the roof, in my room, across the street jumping on our neighbor’s trampoline….me oh my. My birthday party will be much classier.
My sister graduates june 10th so i’ll be making my way back to durham for the festivities. yee hawww. I can’t wait to see my long lost friends of the village. My cousin’s here, staying with me in the house for an unknown period of time…he’s attempting to find housing around these parts. Apparently, it’s a lot easier for women to find places to live than men…most of the ads specifically ask for female tenants only.
I’m off to work for the upper class elite assholes of the club. I hope to talk to you ALL sooooooon.
loveeeeeeee!
Thank you for the message! Kel-Kel called me, too, and said, “Hey, Marshall. I just wanted to tell you the cicadas are here. One flew in my car and I didn’t know what it was. But, they’re really fucking loud.”
YAY!
Marshall may be thrilled about this cicada business, but I don’t want to have any dealings with those freaky bugs AT ALL. Yikes! Peeber, however, sounds like a real charmer and I can’t wait to meet him. Soon, I hope? Really soon? As soon as I can catch more than four or five hours of sleep in a night, I will be heading down. Tell Jacob hello and good luck for me – I’m making remarkable headway on the living sitch, and actually, there’s this guy I’m NOT going to be living with who needs a roommate soon in West Asheville. I could pass the info along? TQM!
